Developed by NASA – TEMPUR material was originally developed in the 1970s at NASA Ames Research Center, California, to improve seating comfort and g-force protection in spacecrafts. It was then limited to medical cushions and mattresses for pressure sore prevention in hospitals and clinics. In 1991 it was perfected after extensive development at TEMPUR World’s Dan-Foam factory in Denmark. The “Space Foam” technology was then introduced for private use offering exceptional pressure relief and comfort. Certified space technology.
