A birdbox commandeered by the common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) in which they built their nest. During the early Summer abnormally high daytime temperatures were reached for a few consecutive days during which time the wasps had difficulty in regulating the temperature of the nest. Individuals were seen fanning at the entrance in an attempt to cool the nest. As well as workers, queen wasps and larvae may be seen.
